South Texas Vacation

We took a trip down to Victoria this weekend and got to see lots of family, experience some special moments and play so hard we passed out.

Our cousins were in from Brazil and that made the trip all the better for my pop tart.  Playing with big girls is big time.

The finger from my husband wasn't very nice.
Being at Uncle Dale and Aunt Susan's is one of the best places on earth.  I'm so glad Julia is starting to make memories here.  She was dancing and twirling in between bites of sausage coming off the grill.  Barefoot and carefree...just the way summer should be.

The reason for our trip was to become the Godparents to this special little guy, Oliver.
Swinging with Aunt Alison and Isla.
Fishing ice from an ice chest full of colbeer was tons o' fun.
 And exhausting work too.
Aquarium is a lot more fun with cousins than just mom and dad!
 Uncle Mark with baby Oliver.
 Mesmerized.

 Dolphin Show!

 WORN OUT.
We can't wait for this little guy to join in all the fun!

A little gun shy...

Sadly, I haven't done pictures with Julia since she was 10 days old.  Well, we have done family ones 3 times, but none of just the pop tart.  The ones when she was just days old made me sweat.  I didn't know what in the world I was doing, and I certainly didn't know what to do if she freaked during these pictures.  Looking back, I should have chilled and LOVED that phase.  You can fix ANYTHING pretty quickly.  Needless to say, I've been a little gun shy since.  Anxiety wise and monetarily wise.  It's not cheap to gather up some pictures on a disc.  Should have been a photographer...

Today we did the mall situation.  I had no idea if that would be a cheesy, fatal mistake, but figured it was worth a shot.  Our photographer shouldn't be judged by his appearance because I was positive this was all going up in flames.  And for about 3.5 minutes it did.  She was a WRECK.  But then Mr. Photographer came through!  Making strides!  She finally warmed up, and I think we got some winners.

Staycation with the Fam Damily

We had a little staycation with my family here at home over the weekend.  It was full of eating, drinking, laughing and playing...good memories were made!

Friday started with a little water time at Mimi and Pops's!

Then it was onto lunch at Benihana's.  That's been a tradition with my brother since he was a pre-teen.  It was appropriate that we take the kiddos for their first hibachi meal.

We headed home for some nappies and then it was some more fun in the sun!

And our besties came over for some "airplane hotdogs!"

The princess found a cape...and loved on her Mimi.

And we wrapped up with a visit to the train.  Big, big weekend!  Now it's time for this momma to go night-night!
