People still got it. Believe it.

Happy New Year, my friends. Happy New Year. Twenty-twelve. Yikes.
I have some anxiety about this fresh start, but I'll leave that for another post.

It's 10:00 pm, and I just opened my mail. Look what was in it.

Yes, those little utensils are three-dimensional. PRESH.

A handwritten thank you note on an absolutely darling Papyrus card. This was to thank my family for inviting another family over for a delightful New Year's Eve dinner party. Can you believe it? Etiquette. People still have etiquette? I am beyond impressed. That's something my mother would have taught me, but I can tell you I don't think I've ever written a note for a dinner party. Or maybe I've never been invited to an actual dinner party. Not sure. But either way, I haven't written thank you notes for Christmas or even finished some from my child's baptism, which was a year ago this weekend. Terrible. And I know I've been a house-guest and not written a note. Which, is just rude. My apologies.
I am astounded and giddy all at the same time. These are new friends of ours. I liked them a lot before, but I really like them a lot now. Hopefully they keep our crazy selves around because we're delighted to keep them!
Here are some pictures of the night. It was A LOT of fun. I have some other friends that want to be on the guest list next year. I'm willing to add one table. ONE. But that's it...so you better submit your requests early!

That is a crab cake, beef tenderloin, asparagus and garlic potatoes gratin. All lit up by one of four baby monitors.

So go on...write a hand written note today. It will ILLUMINATE someone's life. I promise.

CHEERS!
