Masta' Phase One

We're still workin on warmin it up over here...but making significant strides. Me thinks.
We left a smaller house with lots of warmth with wood floors throughout. Bigger rooms and cream carpet are proving hard to make cozy. We've gone with some bold decisions here lately.

Here are the completion photos of the Master Bedroom Phase I.

Remember these beauties I snagged for $2.20 each? Jes, that is a pack n' play in the reflection. Hence the Phase I indication, which means there is a Phase II that we haven't tackled just yet.

And remember these sad guys? The husband was pretty positive I was crazy when I showed up with 1980's office filing cabinets to be used for our nightstands. But it works, eh?

And lastly, the dreaded "BEFORE" shot. Brrrrr, I'm cold just looking at this pitiful pearl.

Verdict? You like? Too dark?

Etsy. Are you with me?

Are you addicted to Etsy? If you're not maybe you should steer clear. I have a problem.
At first, I thought it was mostly bumbo covers, bows, dresses, crafty stuff...things of the sort. Wrong. There is a whole world out there. Endless.

I've been looking for some photographs for a couple of spaces in my house. I came across This photographer. I'm working on ordering these. Thinking they'll be perfect in the bebe's new bathroom. Yes, we just completed her downstairs bath and then moved her up and so square one we go!

They are pictures taken in Burano, Italy, which is a very small town outside of Venice. Clinton and I spent a day there and outside of the quintessential "best days of your life", this was certainly one. Therefore, I must have these. I love art in a home that has a meaning or a story. I think these nail it.

Then there is Venice itself. There is some dispute out there on Venice. I. LOVED. IT. What is not amazing about an entire city on water without motorized vehicles? One Euro to-go wine certainly helps in the fun.

Go on. Get out there and shop!

Overwhelmed

Overwhelmed is how I feel when I get on ebay or Craig's List. I always hear people swear by these sites and get AH-mazing deals. I get sad. I want those deals. I want a house that doesn't look straight out of Pottery Barn or in my case, flipping Hobby Lobby and Kirklands. If that's what you're sportin, it's all good...I'm just TIRED of it. Tired of the dark Venetian bronze chotskis and dark wood picture frames. Ready for some light, bright and not so matchy-matchy. And on that note, why did Pottery Barn tell me it was cool to buy a red couch in 2005? I want to burn that thing to the ground. We'll get to that room re-do after I nail down this nursery.

Anyhow, a blogger out there is doing just about the coolest thing ever. You can hire My Favorite and My Best for $25 to do the Craig's List shopping for you! How cool is that? You throw her some ideas and she comes back with the most ridiculous finds you can imagine. Since I've been floundering on some of the elements in the nursery, you can bet I'm going to her for a few items.
Check out her post today. My mouth is still open.
Beware, she's crude, crass and uses profanity...but I think she's hilarious and a true one-of-a-kind!

On a totally different blog shopping note, have you been over to Jenny at Little Green Notebook? You better hurry....she's cleaning out her basement and selling some fab fabrics. I scored this gorgeous Imperial Trellis for the baby's bedding. I just know Baby E will love kelly green like I do! Wait to see how this all unfolds!

Happy Shopping!
